Stone Age Workshop programme

Did you ever try to use a bone-needle or a knife made out of stone? How did stone-age people made fire and how did they use bow and arrow?

The Stone Age workshop of the Neanderthal Museum offers a comprehensive programme for children, young people and adults. All activities are based on results of experimental archaeology. The Stone Age Workshop offers the opportunity to get in touch with archaeological material and to become acquainted with prehistoric raw materials such as bone, leather or sinew. Using “prehistoric” tools and techniques, participants will experience the daily life of our ancestors.
Whether Stone Age birthday or workshop, the Stone Age Workshop programme offers attractions that appeal to all ages: Gain your individual access to prehistoric knowledge and techniques.

Each participant works on his/her own "stone-age" object, which he/she can take home in the end (an exception is “shooting with stone-age weapons”).

All materials will be provided and are included in the admission fees.
