At the Campsite

Kawiuk: At our campground we not just eat meat from animals, we process everything. Even the bones are shaped into tools. The sinews serve perfectly as cords. My mother and my aunt Sesi use the furs to sew warm clothes for winter. As soon as the weather turns a little colder, I am looking forward to put on my bearskin-parka with its lining of arctic hare.

The parka is very cuddly and keeps the cold wind at bay. My mother set the stitches very tight. Without our warm clothes we would surely freeze to death. You cannot imagine how cold it might become here. During that period we stay at one campsite for a longer time. We can stuff around and tell stories. Do you see how snugly our tent is? There we all sleep together.
