Today, wild wolves are once again rearing their young in eastern Germany. Encounters with them are rare however, as wolves avoid humans. But wolves leave traces that tell of their presence.
The exhibition "Wolves", created by the Senckenberg Museum of Natural History Görlitz, follows these traces. Taking the packs living in Lusatia, a region stretching from eastern Germany to western Poland, as an example, the exhibtion gives insight into the biology and ecology of wolves in the wild. The exhibition features films of the Lusatian wolves, numerous models and specimen as well as acustic installations, turning your visit into an experience for all your senses. An activity area ia also included, in which children can become acquainted with the forest at night and its voices and listen to stories about wolves.
As for cultural history, the exhibition will illuminate the relationship between humans and wolves from their common beginnings in ice age Europe up to today.
