Looking at Apes
March 31st to October 21st, 2012
They are our closest relatives and maybe that’s why they fascinate us so much. Cheetah, Charly, clown, monster or gentle giant - we’ve made up a lot of stories about them and have done a lot to them. Our perception of apes will be the central theme of the exhibition. Further aspects are social structures, tool use and the current threat of extinction due to destruction of their habitats. A variety of media will be employed: audio, video and strong images will supplement the presentation of select objects that are able to tell a story.
