Secondary School – Upper grades
Recommendations for secondary school groups grade 11+
- Guided tour through the Permanent Exhibition – Special guided tours for the topics evolutionary biology and ecology can be arranged to create a deeper understanding of the ecological aspects of mankind’s history. The topics behavioural biology and social biology can also be presented with a guided tour in the Permanent Exhibition or worked at alone or in the classroom
- Workshop in the Cast Collection – To create a deeper understanding of human evolution for the subject Biology pupils can work with material from the pal abguss sammlung that is normally only available for scientists. Morphological comparisons show the development from the early hominids to the Homo sapiens.
- Guided tour with focus on religion - A tour through the permanent exhibition with the focus on the question: Where do we come from - Garden of Eden or Evolution. The guided tour is highly recommended to philosophy and religion courses.
- Guided tour at the Discovery Site – A guided tour from the museum to the Discovery Site and around the site is especially versatile. It allows insights into the industrial history of the region, the varying climate of the Ice Age and describes the exciting history of archaeology.
- Guided tour along the “Human Traces” art trail – The “Human Traces” art trail, which was created by international artists is the perfect environment for reflecting on the topic Mankind-Nature-Environment for the subject Art.
- Presentation of stone-age techniques – Experience in our presentation how our ancestors created razor-sharp stone blades, worked jewellery from bones and antlers, how they used a spear thrower and made fire.
