Bio

Born in 1993, studied prehistory and historical archaeology in Vienna (AT) and archaeology and museology in Leiden (NL) from 2012 to 2016. Training as engineer for garden and landscape design (Vienna).
As the museum’s research coordinator, Riethus is responsible for the project management of scientific projects and the creation of new projects and collaborations.
Furthermore she is responsible for the digital archive (incl. former projects NESPOS, DISAPALE).

In her role as project leader of NMsee (2019-2022), Riethus investigates how museums can be made more inclusive for people with visual impairments with the help of digital offers.
She writes her doctoral thesis on the NMsee project at the University of Heidelberg (Department of History).

Previously, Riethus supported the museum as a research volunteer (exhibition management, 2016-2018) and marketing officer (2018).
She participated in archaeological excavations in France, Wales, Siberia, Austria, and Germany and completed internships at the Natural History Museum Vienna and the Weltmuseum Wien.
